Septic Services
Single Family Home Septic Design
$1,195 to $1,500 Depending on location and complexity — Design of a septic system serving a single family home. This design typically requires significant time before coming out to the property to gather site information and records and then 3-6 hours on site conducting soil borings and determining the best location for the system while ensuring proper setbacks as required by state and local ordinances. In addition the design process also includes time after the site visit going through the engineering calculations to property size the system and its components as well as create a detailed site plan that allows the installation contractor to put in the system without any issues. *In addition once the design is completed the fee also includes up to a one hour meeting onsite with the installation contractor putting in the system to ensure all parties are on the same page.
Compliance Inspection of Existing Septic System
Variable Rate — A compliance inspection is often required during the sale/purchase of a home. This inspection ensures the septic system serving the property is in compliance with the appropriate rules and regulations. The compliance Inspection consists of time spent before arriving on site checking records and then 1-3 hours onsite and time in the office writing up the report, comparing findings to applicable rules and then submitting the report to the appropriate regulating body. For an additional fee of $150 well testing can be conducted during the compliance inspection as well. A frost fee of $50 may apply during the winter months.
Septic System Monitoring and Operation
Variable Rate — As service providers we have are able to provide system monitoring and operation for type IV systems under an operating permit. Most operating permits require at least annual sampling and reporting of certain contaminants and we are able to complete that sampling for you. We are also able to monitor the system and provide regular site visits to ensure your advanced system is operating properly. Due to the variety of type IV systems out there and the variable reporting and monitoring requirements pricing will be determined on a case by case basis after an initial free consultation.
Commercial or Other Establishment Septic Design
Variable rate — A similar process is required to the design of a septic system serving a single family home, however depending on the type of property there are considerable additional considerations that need to be accounted for and dealt with. Pricing on these non-residential systems varies and requires a free site visit to properly quote a price.
In addition some small outbuildings require a design for the wastewater system serving the building and this can be much simpler than a typical dwelling and again the price will be dependent on the situation and determined after a site visit or a discussion with the client.
Septic System Troubleshooting
Variable Rate — As service providers we have experience in problem solving septic system issues. We will talk with you over the phone or communicate via email on what your issue is and then quote a price depending on the scope of the required work.
Advanced or Intermediate Inspection of New or Upgraded Systems
Variable Rate — Local units of government with oversight of septic systems are required to provide inspection of all systems installed in their jurisdiction. At times smaller communities do not have certified individuals who can inspect advanced or intermediate septic systems. We will contract for this oversight with the local unit of government and pricing will be agreed upon individually.
Environmental Consulting Services
Environmental Compliance Audit
$1000 — An environmental compliance audit is conducted by first gathering information from the client on the different environmental liabilities they are under. After the initial information is gathered an onsite visit is conducted, usually lasting between 3 and 6 hours. After the site visit a report is issued outlining any findings that need to be addressed and recommendations for meeting compliance criteria going forward with all environmental liabilities. Travel mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate. Travel over 1 hour in duration each way is billed at an hourly rate of $50/hr; for example a site that required a travel time of one and a half hours would be billed 0.5 hours each direction.
Environmental Consulting
Variable Rate — Businesses today have many environmental considerations. If you have an environmental concern and don’t know where to turn we offer a free consultation over the phone to determine what if anything needs to be done. After the initial consultation an hourly rate will be determined depending on the scope of the issue and the expected duration of the solution.
Industrial By-Products and Biosolids
Variable Rate — With a type IV wastewater operator in the state of Minnesota on staff we are able to obtain and carry out land application of industrial by-products and biosolids permits in the state of Minnesota. This is a very time intensive process that requires considerable paperwork and testing and as a result is priced out on a case by case basis.
